Download SayWhatPro7Setup.exe

Then, run SayWhatPro7Setup.exe to install the program. For some older systems (some Win9x), you will need to manually run SayWhatPro7Setup.exe a second time after a system reboot.

Run the installed SayWhatPro7.exe (You can probably say "Start SayWhatPro". If not, go through the Start Programs menu or run it from the installation location... c:\program files\SpeechUtilities\SayWhatPro7.exe).

SayWhatPro7 will search for NatSpeak Professional Series 7 and prompt you for the location if it cannot find it. It will then parse your mycmds.dat file and immediately present you with the main screen. Get familiar with SayWhatPro7. Navigate through your different Programs and Scopes.

The rest of this document describes importing 2 SayWhatPro supplied macros to increase functionality and ease-of-use of SayWhatPro. These macros are supplied as a separate file in the download setup process.

The first macro below will bring up SayWhatPro7 in Global Commands mode.

The second is not totally necessary, but provides an easy to remember complement to the first. SayWhatPro7 will fire up into whatever Program you are currently working in so that when you say "local say what" in Internet Explorer, for instance, the Internet Explorer commands are immediately onscreen in SayWhatPro7.

Modify the path names in these macros if necessary. You will not need to modify anything if you choose the default installation path. Below are the macros which are supplied during installation as the file Pro7global.dat.

Global command "global say what":
Sub Main
Shell ("c:\program files\SpeechUtilities\SayWhatPro7.exe Global Commands",1)
End Sub

Global command "local say what":
Sub Main
Shell ("c:\program files\SpeechUtilities\SayWhatPro7.exe",1)
End Sub

Say "Start command browser" then "Manage","Import" , navigate to c:\program files\SpeechUtilities\Pro7global.dat (or wherever you installed SayWhatPro7) to import it. As soon as it is imported, the macros can be used.

Note to previous users: In one of those new version idiosyncrasies, I could never get the commands that I previously used to be consistently recognized by version 7. Above was "global say what pro", and "local say what pro" previously. "pro" seems to be the difficult part. All 4 are actually in the Pro7Global.dat file.
