Enable That Version 1.2 ($19)

Enable That is essentially a program to be able to dictate text into using Select-and-Say. You might use it for situations where dictating does not work at all (example, MyCommands Editor for NatSpeak Pro 6 users), or for situations where dictating works (but not Select-and-Say).  You might say that you can do this process with dialog macros and/or DragonPad and/or with cutting and pasting, but this product puts these steps into a seamless "enable that"-dictate-"paste and close" process.

Features include:

  •  NEW!!! - Multi-field form filling
  •  NEW!!! - fully functional nagware version (for true risk free evaluation)
  •  Now compatible in versions 5, 6, 7 DNS Preferred & Above
  •  Automatic copying of the current text on startup
  •  Automatic copying back of modified text on close
  •  Choose font and font size
  •  Resize-reposition the dictation window
  •  Remember both of the above for each application that you call it from.
  •  Pro users can still give Advanced Scripting commands (overcomes a failing with dialog box solutions).
  •  Will always paste back into called from application even if you switch to another window intermediately (overcomes some macro solutions).
  •  Works for Preferred users also!! Unprecedented automation for Preferred users.
  •  Clipboard is retained on start up
  •  Saves last "Paste and close" window in a file
  •  Full Select-and-Say dictation

I wrote this program for myself specifically so I could do Select-and-Say dictating of e-mail messages and get them easily into Eudora 5.1. I have also seen reports of users not being able to dictate at all into Eudora, so this will help these types. Netscape e-mail users have also complained of the lack of Select-and-Say.

Select-and-Say is a very advantageous feature for 1) dictating more fluidly in longer phrases (possibly leading to better accuracy) without having to constantly watch the screen so that you can "correct that" on your last dictated phrase all the time 2) more hands-free correction process.

I wish I had written this program sooner! I don't know why I suffered without it for so long.

I have also noticed it coming in handy in Internet Explorer where a text box that I need to dictate into is too small to see everything I want (even though the text box is dictation and Select-and-Say enabled). EnableThat can be used for fixed sized dictation fields that are too small to see all of the text (scrolled). Also, I don't have vision problems, but I could imagine that users who need large fonts to dictate into could be helped by this program's remembering of fonts and settings for different programs.

What is this program again?

EnableThat is a Select-and-Say enabled dictation window with bells and whistles above and beyond that of DragonPad and/or dialog macro solutions.  See screenshot below.  See features above.

Limitation/Explanation: EnableThat's dictation works only on plain text. If for instance, your Eudora e-mail message that you may be replying to is an HTML formatted message, only the text itself will be pasted into the EnableThat window (without any HTML formatting), and only the text will be pasted back into the reply window (without any HTML formatting). This is not a problem unless you desire HTML formatting in your e-mails. Many people have a bias against HTML e-mail anyway.

EnableThat now works in versions 5, 6 and 7, Preferred and above.
